The focal point of this stunning ring is a large teardrop shaped ruby. The faceted deep fuchsia-red gemstone is set in a 14 karat yellow gold bezel that gently enfolds it, and is framed by a tiny diamond on either side. The band features a beautiful hand hammered texture that contrasts nicely with the polished bezel and faceted ruby. The ruby measures approximately 1/4" by 3/8" and the band is 1/16" wide.
The work of Brooklyn designer Emily Amey is distinctive, colorful, organic and unique. Each piece is designed to accentuate the precious or semi-precious stone that forms its centerpiece. The designs are inspired and informed by Amey's extensive travels around the world, and by her love of the ocean and its natural forms. Amey is particularly known for her statement rings, which feature large, unusual, colorful and organically shaped gemstones in hand carved sterling silver and 14 karat gold settings.
